Track geometry irregularities refer to deviations in track parameters such as longitudinal level, alignment, gauge, cross-level, and twist, and can influence vehicle–track dynamic interactions, permissible operating speeds, maintenance requirements, and overall system safety.
The novel lightweight Track Geometry (Track Geo) trolley can measure these track geometry parameters in compliance with EN 13848-4, with much higher accuracy than the standard requirements. The system can be operated manually at walking speed or towed behind a vehicle at speeds of up to 25 km/h, depending on the track condition.
The multi-gauge TrackGeo trolley can operate on both vignola rails and grooved rails, and with a turnout adaptor, it can pass through switches and crossings.
